  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A delicious, vibrant, and unique Peach and Strawberry Hot Sauce: a velvety smooth condiment made from roasted fruit and Fresno peppers, balanced with tangy apple cider vinegar and maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large peach
  • 5 medium strawberries
  • 1 orange bell pepper
  • ¼ large sweet onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 large Fresno peppers
  • 12 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Slice: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice all fruit and vegetables into large pieces, removing seeds as needed.
  2. Toss and Roast: Toss the peach, strawberries, bell pepper, sweet onion, garlic, and Fresno peppers with olive oil. Spread them on a foil-lined baking sheet and roast for 20–25 minutes, until slightly charred.
  3. Cool and Blend: Allow to cool, then blend the roasted ingredients with apple cider vinegar and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Season and Serve: Season with salt to taste. Serve with your favorite dishes and enjoy!

Notes

  • Roasting Flavor: Roasting the ingredients is crucial. Do not skip this step, as it concentrates the sugars and adds the essential smoky depth.
  • Heat Level: Adjust the heat by increasing or decreasing the number of Fresno peppers. For a milder sauce, remove all seeds and membranes; for a hotter sauce, leave some seeds in.
  • Blending: For the smoothest sauce, blend for a full minute. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water to thin it slightly.
  • Storage: Store the finished sauce in a clean, airtight glass jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Serving Suggestion: This sauce is fantastic drizzled over fish tacos, avocado toast, or cream cheese as a party dip.
