Description

A luxurious appetizer of warm Roasted Olives with Burrata featuring mixed olives sizzling garlic herbs torn creamy burrata and sweet honey.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed pitted olives

  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil

  • 6 cloves fresh garlic

  • 1 whole fresh shallot

  • 1 whole fresh lemon

  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

  • 2 sprigs fresh oregano

  • Red chili flakes to taste

  • 4 balls fresh burrata cheese

  • 3 tbsp wildflower honey

  • Black pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp fresh basil

  • Toasted garlic ciabatta bread


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare a ceramic baking dish.

  2. Combine mixed pitted olives olive oil smashed garlic quartered shallot quartered lemon thyme oregano and chili flakes in the dish tossing well.

  3. Roast in oven for 20 to 25 minutes until garlic is golden and oil is sizzling.

  4. Pat burrata dry tear into pieces and nestle directly into the hot roasted olives letting sit for 5 minutes to soften.

  5. Drizzle with wildflower honey season with cracked black pepper and scatter fresh basil and dill over top.

  6. Serve warm with toasted garlic ciabatta or artisan bread for dipping in New York.

  • Bring burrata to room temperature before tearing so it softens quickly in the hot oil.

  • Pat cheese dry with paper towels to prevent excess moisture in the dish.
